Using Skype on my MacBook Pro causes a load on the CPU of 100%, causes the machine to heat up and the fan to run very loud. The same happens when using Skype on my iPhone (except for the fan
). A Skype-call of one hour almost empties the battery of the iPhone and causes an increase in the temperature of the phone.
I have already read a number of similar messages in the Support Network, but no response yet from the Skype developers.
Who has a clue why the Skype support team does not respond?
I do not remember having this problem with versions of Skype I used earlier.

I am experiencing this as well. Mid 2010 Macbook Pro, clean install with full system upgrades yesterday. running lion. Seems like a pretty abundant problem, but little to no word from Skype about it. Skype, why do you not want to address this problem publicly? Seriously? If you google "skype consuming all cpu usage" there are currently 253,000 hits. That says that we aren't the only two people experiencing this.
Please fix skype? I use it for work, and it sucks having a battery that normally lasts ten hours die in 30 minutes flat due to skype. Not cool. I would be happy to post logs or work with your developers to fix this. Just please... Fix it.
