Hi UberOverLoad...I am attempting to install Skype into a new system from Dell. The error code is 1603, but before showing the error code, there is a prompt with the following message: "Could not access location %Public%\Desktop\."
I have updated Microsoft updates for Windows 7 and any drivers from Dell. The file for exe for the latest version of SKYPE downloaded ok, but the message above comes up while the program is installing.
Is there any help you can provide? I really appreciate it. thanks

I have the same problem. This piece of crap doesn't work! They should focus on making the software usable on Windows 7 instead of adding some [edited for inappropriate language] functionalities. OMG WHAT a crap piece of [edited for inappropriate language].
