i had the same problem with a chinese 'blackberry 9800' slider clone. They said it worked with Skype & Facebook, but it was not for voice calls, only instant messaging.A bit of a con really.I'm not sure if you may be having the same problems, just a thought.

Hi Martin,
My model is a WM8650. Others have this problem. I guess there are other than SKYPE software provides that can work in a WIFI environment with this type of configuration. Thx for the help Martin-Redman, you really helped, Regards, femaldeb

Guys, please re-read my earlier post here,if you have a chinese/taiwan phone/tablet it may not be set up to accept Skype or facebook chat.
I looked on the Wondermedia Tablets own website & found a sentence starting:
''Headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan''.
So maybe you can't get Skype.
As a last try,on your tablet, look in Google for ,www . freewarelovers . com / android / apps /skype old_versions & try & download an old version of Skype,v 1.0.983 seems popular, this wont give you video but MAY allow voice calls.I can't promise you that this will work,i'm not a Skype technician, just another poster like you, trying to help others.
Good luck. Martin.

Hi All,
New to this board, my first post in fact. My WM8650 (ePad model) is running a rooted ROM, Universal Uberoid version 10.0 (Option 30).
http://www.techknow.t0xic.nl/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=f2a96b
I've tried Skype early versions 1.0.0538, 1.0.0.614, 1.0.0.659, and several later versions all install no problem, but none allow you to create a new Skype account, nor can you you sign in to an existing account. This has been tried via wifi, and hardwired connections, no joy with either.
IMO the issue lies in the Chinese version of Android 2.2, I believe Skype is banned in China (correct me if I'm wrong), so I'm wondering if this is significant ???.
Jack
