I am using: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7510); stock Android 3.1; WiFi on home network; Skype v126.96.36.199. I purchased this tablet on December 23, 2011. Soon after, I installed the Skype app from the Android market. It worked like a charm, including video calling. However, within the last week or two (current date: January 20, 2012), video calling stopped working. I am an advanced computer user; I have tried several typical troubleshooting strategies (e.g., uninstall/reinstall, check all app and device settings, web search for solutions, consult Skype and Samsung FAQs/blogs/etc., factory reset of device, test on different WiFi networks, test with different Skype contacts, etc.). When I initiate a video call, my camera activates and I can see myself; however, upon connection, the video disappears and neither party can see video -- and the call becomes audio-only. This "bad behaviour" occurs every time; once the problem began, I have had no success with video calling.
Thank you. I tried this and tested it. Still not working. And no surprise: I previously uninstalled and reinstalled Skype and had disabled the application settings restore option. In other words, I did a full/clean uninstall, including settings and data, and then reinstalled -- to no avail.
