Using Video Chat, both cameras are now working with this phone.
However, the front-facing camera, the one that faces the user, is forced into a landscape mode that ALWAYS tracks 45 degrees off, which makes it impossible to appear properly to the caller.
The back-facing camera works as advertised.
It doesn't matter if you click the "enable rotation and zoom" setting in Skype's settings menu, the front-facing camera is always stuck being 45 degrees off rotation.
Anyone else having the same problem with their phone during video chat mode?

Same exact problem here (assuming you meant 90 degrees, clockwise) with my HTC Sprint Evo 4G. The remote-side video has a similar problem. It shows on the phone in landscape mode, but if I rotate the phone 90 degrees to accomodate that, then the image from my phone shows up on the remote caller's side rotated 90 degrees. As-is, this is totally unusable. I hope there's a fix soon. This might be an Evo bug, but it should be possible for Skype to add parameters to control this that we can adjust to get it to work on whatever phone we have.

I have found others at the t-mobile site with the same problem, so it is obviously a software-switch that needs a tweak.
Who do we direct our request to - the Skype folks? There are LOTS of 4G's out there, so we need to SPEAK UP!

further investigation done with a Dell laptop and a second account:
the person on the other end sees the 4G front-facing camera properly, but it's always tied to a PORTRAIT rotation. If I turn the 4G to landscape, the caller on the other end doesn't see a landscape picture, they see a portrait picture turned on its side.
So that's no good. This is with "rotation" enabled in the skype menu on the 4G, front-facing camera enabled.
Someone in power has to do some testing with this phone
surely enough were sold to warrant investigation...

Same issue here, communicating from a MyTouch 4G to an iPhone 4Steve. I can see the caller's image correctly, but mine is off by 90 degrees as previously described. So, I choose to rotate my phone so the caller's image is rotated sideways but he gets mine in the correct orientation.
BTW, it doesn't matter if I have rotation on or off, it still messes up, but I prefer to have it off, that way, if I really need to see the caller's image right side up, I can just rotate my phone without it auto-correcting.
I wouldn't go as far as to say it's unusuable, but it is annoying.

Seeing that this is a problem on a few phones, I am sure that there will be a fix for this... eventually. I saw that they where supposed to have fixed the bug on the Evo4G, and obviously it didn't work, so maybe we can see a fix... someday.
Not sure what the developers are thinking, but wouldn't an option to be able to manually change the orientation make sense? no one ever said developers aren't good at what they do, just their thinking processes must be hindered at times, or they just want it to be of Apple philosophy and 'just work' ![]()

Unfortunately, this is affecting the 3G world too. I've got the front camera problem on an Incredible 2, running 2.3.4
