Video Skype on Android Tablets

I have a new Toshiba Thrive Tablet (with Android 3.1 Honeycomb) with front and rear facing cameras but cant seem to make a video call, is it me, skype or the tablet?

It's the skype. Video call it's not yet supported for adroid tablets.

I purchased a Thrive last night, partly so I can video skype with my girlfriend on her IPad.  Skype is the only option here, because she is not very technically literate, hense the IPad, and does not want to use anything else.  I was very very disappointed to find that video calling does not work through Skype on the Thrive.

When is Skype going to fix this?

Hello, I did all Skype asked, got to AppLib, Market etc, but when I want to install Skype mobile on my Archos 101 tablet 8 Gb, it says I have no devices on this account. I have 2 gmail accounts, but I think the regidtration of my tablet was on my main email adress telenet.be. Is there a way I can get Market to recognize this emailadress on my account? OR to get the device on my gmail account. Skype is impossible to get on the tablet if I don't do this. HELP !!

We bought a Motorola XOOM WI FI specifically to use skype while away from home rather than carrying a laptop. Downloaded skype for android which was ok for voice calls but complete pants for video. It seems that this is a problem for quite a few tablets so it's about time that skype got its act together and produced a fix.

For all those who wish to video chat on your android tablet, I strongly suggest that you download the Amazon App Store and from there Download FRING. It works great for me. I own a Pandigital Star tablet. Download as many app stores as you can to get a wider variety of apps. I got GETJAR, Amazon, and SLIDEme (SAM4.3) on my device. But as I said earlier definitely download the Amazon App Store so you can download the FRING app for video chat. Good Luck.

can the FRING be used on laptops and desktops?? and do you know if the android supports any other chat system
