T-Mobile USA, Verizon LTE, and other are now supporting IPv6. I noticed that Skype does not work on the Android Galaxy Nexus with IPv6 on the T-Mobile USA network. As you may know, IPv6 is a major technology evolution and its will impact fast growing mobile networks and peer to peer communication very quickly. Given that Skype is already broken on the T-Mobile USA IPv6 network, i suggest you provide a strategy for supporting IPv6 and fixing your app, more and more phones will launch with IPv6, which means more and more IPv6 users cannot get Skype. https://sites.google.com/site/tmoipv6/lg-mytouch

Too bad Skype isn't listening.
For some reason the old poll to vote for IPv6 has disappeared now as well:

Come on Skype, get you act together and add IPv6 support.
Eventually there will be a new kid on the block that speaks IPv6.
Then users will vote with their feet...
Microsoft is doing well these days with respect to IPv6 - why don't they ship some engineering off to Skype and help their network team?

And so many other applications support IPv6 that this is a real shame for Skype indeed. Even other P2P applications (such as Bittorrent) use IPv6 to get short connections without having to rely on super-nodes to traverse NAT.
If Skype was using IPv6 several months ago, then the major breakdown of Skype would not have happened for the IPv6 nodes at least!
Super-nodes would only be required to translate IPv4/IPv6 or between two NAT'ed IPv4 nodes

I would love to see a response to this from Skype. I'm a user running on T-Mobile's IPv6 network and obviously can't use Skype. ![]()

My company also go internaly to IPv6, LTE is launched also in Croatia... Ipv6 is normal for LTE networks.
Skype is the one who should support new protocol, now already becoming defacto everywhere.. ![]()
