Front Video Won't work on my certified, Froyo device

I have the HTC Thunderbolt, which is one of the certified devices. I have version 2.2.1 of Android, and the latest version of Skype. I was trying it out with my mom today who has a certified device, froyo, and updated Skype, and the only video that would work is the rear camera! The video settings were not enabled, and could only work with the back camera. I tried to troubleshoot it on the website, but could not find anything to help me. From what i read, I have everything required for it to work, but it doesn't. Help please!

Re: Skype for Android 2.1 released - More video calling on more devices

I can say that with the latest Skype version, the audio is finally useful on HTC Wildfire. You must use the headset, the voice quality is low, but it works now. The 'proximity sensor' bug is still not fixed, developers keep up the good work.

Make sure you use the latest firmware for your HTC Wildfire and the latest Skype version from Android market. Use with headset only, voice is choppy on speaker or when the screen goes black.

SABOTAGE...

their very first product ran better then any of this garbage their devs have been putting out.

maybe they should go back their early versions where they actually were trying to make a name.

now all they are doing is making more bugs then fixes...

Re: Skype for Android 2.1 released - More video calling on more devices

Hi Allen;

I have htc sensation 4G (Android 2.3.3). Downloaded app form market... no video.

Your literature specifically states "sensation 4G" as a model with full video.

Downloaded app for laptop, found link for browser download. Closed app on my phone and the market popped up and I chose the "open" option and checked "automatic update".

Now I can check mark for the phone to use video... but it posted the message that the model wasn't approved for video and may work but not very good video. What's up with that. Either the model is approved and tested or it isn't. I spent hours trying to figure this out and have an important call from Lebanon tomorrow at noon. I think the first download from the market should have detected that I did have a sensation and allowed me to turn on the video. As it was, I never saw the choices to even try to turn on the video because I was looking for controls on the caling screen. You have to be on the very opening screen to get to the menu to turn on video.

Does this software I have loaded fully support the video, or is the warning message correct and your listing of the "sensation" incorrect?

Sincerely,

Charles

Re: Skype for Android 2.1 released - More video calling on more devices

Thanks but it tell me that I don't have enough space. I didn't know Skype needed more that 14GB to install on a Galaxy tablet.
And why does this **bleep** version has to run permanently??? It is a total **bleep** up. You lost me and will lose many more paying customers your morons. Go kiss Microsoft ass
