Re: Skype for Android 2.0.0.47 Changing ringtone missing

Does anyone from Skype support read these? I have the same issue too. I would like to buy a subscription to communicate with my sister overseas but unless I can hear the ringer and IM notification there is no point.

Re: Skype for Android 2.0.0.47 Changing ringtone missing

Seems like since Microsoft bought Skype, development has stopped. No Skype updates for Desktop in long time. Neigher any replies here, regarding very relevant things for mobile version.

Still hoping that the situation will get solved soon.

Re: Skype for Android 2.0.0.47 Changing ringtone missing

My wife and I have the same problem as everyone else... We're relatively new Android smartphone users, she with a Galaxy SII and me with a Sony Xperia MiniPro, and were excited when we first saw and installed the Android version on our phones with the feature of video calling.

But same as everyone else, we both quickly discovered that neither of us could hear each other's ring when calling... it's so muffled as to almost be inaudable. And that's even when staying in a quiet room.... not to mention when you're outside on the street or in any kind of noisy environment.

I don't know if this problem is one affecting all phones with this version of Skype for Android...or just a lot of them, based on all the various posts and phones mentioned above. But it also makes the program useless for us.

No way to change the Skype ringtone and no way to adjust the volume of that ringtone in the app.  It's Skype for Android uninstall time...until they fix the problem.

you should refer to www.fidosysop.org/1420/07/downgrade-your-skype-android-to-1-0-0-983apk-here for downgrading to Version 1.0.0.983 permitting you to choose your ringtone. The direct link to the apk-file is: http://www.fidosysop.org/sitefiles/wp-content/downloads/1.0.0.984.apk

Re: Skype for Android 2.0.0.47 Changing ringtone missing

Seems like Skype is really ignoring this thread. I have Samsung tab running Android 4.0.4. I don't hear the faintest sound when somebody calls me. Don't understand how I am supposed to receive calls. Hated google hangout but always loved Skype. But seems like times are changing now. Probably time to go back to gtalk

Re: Skype for Android 2.0.0.47 Changing ringtone missing

Hi

Did you change the volume setting of your "Media Volume" in your phone settings?

The phone's incoming call uses the Main Volume slider control and Skype incoming call uses the Media Volume in your phone's sound settings.

I hope this helps.
