Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

I second the request for Slype with video on Xoom running 3.1. Without video, Skype is not worth installing.

Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

I will third that request... I got so exited when I got the news that the Skype for Android had been updated for Video-Calling on July 2nd... After I looked into why I couldn't get it to work, BIG Disappointment, as the release only covered 4 phones. What about premium Tablets like my Motorola Xoom?

Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

I agree on wanting to know this question as well. While Ipads have sold well, they haven't really had a whole lot of competition and sales because tablets (especially the XOOM) overall haven't been as hot as they were expected to be. However I think a main reason for this is the fact that Skype video will not work with anything else other than the Ipad as of right now, and I like Google products/software so much better than Apples! It's a shame. I think once (or a possibly unfortunate if) Skype video calling becomes available for Android, sales for tablets will BOOM! Not to hard to see that mobile videocalling is easily gonna be a pivotal aspect for the future of communication technology. I would have bought a tablet in 2 SECONDS(ASAP!!), if tablets had the capability to do Skype video-but unfortunately they don't, and I'd like to know when it will be a possibility! I'll be traveling across the world, and I'd love to be able to Skype (video) friends of mine across the world while I'm just hanging out in some park or national monument half way across the world! HURRY UP SKYPE AND GET ON THE BALL FOR VIDEOCALLING!! When will it be available?

Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

Another release of Skype for Android last night... still not supporting video on the Xoom! Big disappointment - who to blame? --- Skype, Motorola or Google... maybe I was just greedy when I chose the xoom, because it was the fastest tab available in Canada. Getting any upgrades in Canada is turning out to be a bit of a nightmare. Why does Samsung and Htc get so much attention from Skype? Or... What did Motorola do to Skype?

Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

I bought the Motorola Xoom for the purpose of using Skype on WiFi. I am beyond frustrated by this. Should I take it back and get another brand of tablet?

Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

Apparently, one of the Samsung Galaxy Tab is suppose to work... not the 10.1 tho.

Why is it that Fring and Google Talk can figure out how to make it work, but Skype (supposingly #1 in this field) can't make it work. That doesn't make any sense (or cents), there has to be another reason why Skype hasn't followed through!

Re: Skype Video Calling for Motorola Xoom

Most likely it is a political question rather than programming issue, Skype=Microsoft, Xoom= Google ... why should MS do something to promote Google? They bought Skype not to stimulate competitors' business.
