Skype 2.8 voice call bug - Connecting alert plays even after voice call is answered [ Edited ]

I recently updated to Skype 2.8 for my completely stock Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket running Android 2.3.6 and I have an issue. When I make a regular voice call with Skype, the connecting alert (the double ringing noise that plays immediately after you attempt a call with Skype) keeps playing even after the ringing alert has started (the normal ringing you hear after dialing a number which signals that your call is going through). The connecting alert continues to play even after the call is picked up for about 1-2 seconds which is very disruptive. For those 1-2 seconds when the call is picked up, the connecting alert gets slightly softer but is still disruptive. I am experiencing this issue on both 4G and Wifi. In the previous update, I never had this issue and the connecting alert would stop once the ringing alert had started. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but I have the same issue. Please fix this issue ASAP because I rely on this app for work calls.

The performance of my phone is not an issue, I am not running an excessive amount of apps simultaneously and I do not have any memory hogging apps installed on my phone.

I would appreciate it if a developer or moderator could give me an answer about what will be done about this issue. A time frame as to when this issue will be resolved would also be appreciated. I am currently using 2.7 but the caller id bug in which the caller ID gets reset each time I sign in is very annoying so I'd love to see a minor update roll out as soon as possible.

If anyone else is having this issue then please share your experience here so we can expedite a minor update to fix this issue.

I have the same problem on my HTC Sensation running ICS.
Also, sometimes after the phone is connected (I was talking to the other person already), Skype was still displaying connecting...
Darn, how hard is it to get the dialer working correctly Skype? I am leaning more and more to Vonage every day, especially when Vonage is free now.

Yes I have the same problem on my Tmobile Galaxy S2 with the Skype "audible ringing" over the "telco phone ringing"...planning to reinstall Skype back to version 2.6

Bump. Thank you to everyone who has shared their experience with this issue. I find it very unprofessional that a developer or moderator has not bothered to reply to this topic yet. This is a serious issue and I expect some sort of acknowledgement from a developer or moderator concerning this issue.

Do they (Skype reps) even respond to issue reports?  I rarely see their reponses to complains or bug reports.

If you talk about features and good things about Skype, they will jump in right away.

I've created a bug ticket for investigation by the Skype for Android development team. I'll come back to you when we need more information.

The same problem on Samsung Galaxy Note with Android 2.3.6. Sometimes when calling out, it does not connect even if the other side has accepted the call and the screen keeps in the dialing screen and the sound "dudu...dudu..." keeps noisy with the voice from the other side at the same time...
