Just updated to latest on my Nexus One.
This thing is extremely slow. Spinning status all the time.
Switching between tabs (contacts, recent) takes forever (looks like it reloads the whole thing every time, so it takes couple of minutes to see something).
Right now I want old version back.

Motorola Atrix 2 - Camera orientation works properly but video issues still occur if set on "HIGH", switch it to "LOW" and it works fine. I doubt this will be a issue considering AT&T's network is by far not the best...but it works and officially retired my iPhone 4.
Does Skype work properly on the new HTC One X? If so, I will buy one next week but want to know before spending the money.
Thanks!

If video works with Low and not with High setting, it might be the connection, yes. Suggest trying a wifi connection to test this.
As for the HTC One X, please send me a PM about this.

Using a WiFi connection the problem still exists with the Video setting on "High", it works fine if the setting is "Low". I just wanted to mention this but people understand connecting via mobile, the video will rarely ever be HQ regardless of the connection.

I just updated to Skype 2.8 today for my completely stock Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket running Android 2.3.6 and I have an issue. When I make a regular voice call with Skype, the connecting alert (the double ringing noise that plays immediately after you attempt a call with Skype) keeps playing even after the ringing alert has started (the normal ringing you hear after dialing a number which signals that your call is going through). The connecting alert continues to play even after the call is picked up for about 1-2 seconds which is very disruptive. For those 1-2 seconds when the call is picked up, the connecting alert gets slightly softer but is still disruptive. In the previous update, I never had this issue and the connecting alert would stop once the ringing alert had started. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but I have the same issue. Please fix this issue ASAP because I rely on this app for voice calls.
I was thinking of downloading a Skype 2.7 apk file from a random website to use the previous version but I would like to avoid installing potential malware on my phone. If possible, please provide me with an apk file of Skype 2.7 to use in the meantime.
I tried sending an email to the developer email listed on Google Play about this issue but I got an automated reply to go to this website for support.

Let me ask this before upgrading to 2.8. Are Bluetooth audio issues fixed in this release? Skype 2.7 most often worked with A2DP profile instead of properly supporting HSP and HFP profiles:
1. The audio out would either go through the phone's earpiece or through the paired audio system (A2DP), and not through the paired standard headset (HSP).
3. Phone's microphone was the only recognizable option for the audio in.
2. Switching between phone's earpiece and speaker did not work properly. When changing to speakerphone during a call, Skype erroneously identified paired A2DP device as internal phone speaker and switched audio out to that instead.
My phone is MyTouch 4G, Android 2.3.4 stock.

@goodvin: 2.8 does not include any major changes to Bluetooth support, sorry. Bluetooth is still a minefield on most mobile platforms. It's still on our to do list.
I recommend to download the latest Skype and search first.

I'm using a stock Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 (US) with Android 2.3.5. A bug from a release prior to Skype 2.7 has been re-introduced.
Before the update to Skype 2.8, I was able to switch from earpiece/headset to speaker and back again. Now, pressing the button has no effect. No matter which state the button is in, with the headset plugged out, the sound always goes to the rear speakers and the with it plugged in the sound always goes to the headset.
