People harassing me; SkypeMe mode.

I want to know how i can delete the skypeme mode for good from my account settings. I've tried to change them already but they get back to defaults, so everyone can contact me and i get at least 30 calls a day from people i dont know/people who want to have sex by internet (Weirdos).

I get harassed and im really angry! I have this problem both in my windows computer and my android phone, and it seems to be there since i updated the program.

There's a setting that should help with that.

From skype on your computer, go to the skype menu, then privicy. The first option is Allow calls from, switch it to people in my contacts list only.

If you've got an online number you can still recieve phone calls from anyone, there's a seperate setting for that. But now you shouldn't recieve skype to skype calls from anyone you don't know. And my apologies for how profoundly creepy the internet is.

This us happening to me and my settings are set to only my contacts yet I get sex calls morning noon and night. I am getting disgusted with skype.

Same problem with my Android device since yesterday. I asked one of guys trying to contact me where did he get my contact and he told me that i was in an open chat and i have a "skype me" status, though "SkypeMe! is no longer supported in Skype for Windows, though it is still accessible in Skype for Mac 2.8 and earlier." So I can't find where I can change this setting both with Android and Win. They say here https://support.skype.com/m/en/faq/FA442/What-is-SkypeMe-reg-mode that "To change your status to or from SkypeMe! mode on earlier versions of Skype for Mac OS X, go to Account > Change Status and then click SkypeMe!", but the Account page doesnt open.

So i see this problem has been here on skype forever then. I just updated yesterday. Before then i did not have the problem of my profile being accessible to all the weirdo's out there. Now since yesterday I've been inundated with them. I am really angry about this. I did not chose to put myself in "skypeMe Mode" and feel that skype themselves have therefore breached my privacy. There are no working instructions either that i have found that actually work to remove this setting. Im warning all my friends and family about this. May go back to using google if this problem isn't sorted by skype ASAP.

The same thing has happened to me, and I agree that I will no longer be using Skype if they don't fix it within the next few days or even week.

hi all i just sussed this out so here goes, click on skype go to privacy tab,at the top you are seeing that you are on skypeme ?    heres how to stop it go back to skype tab and at the top it says online status click on offline then go back to your privacy and you,ll see you can now tick people in my contacts only tick that then DONT forget at the bottom to save the page then go back to online status and click yourself back online thats it your done.hope this as helped lots of you, phew it bugged me for ages
