On line contacts not shown

HTC Desire S.  Was working OK but now no contacts are shown on-line.  I know they are there from the PC.  Sign in OK, Skype icon says I am connected. Signed out from PC but no difference.

People say you need to call a contact who is definitely online and after that everyone's statuses should be shown ok.

I have the same problem on my LG Optimus One and this solution works for me.

I have the opposite problem.  A contact is shown "online" on SKYPE mobile on my phone, but is not shown online on my computer.  Any suggestions?
