No voice (microphone) after latest update

I'm using Sony Ericsson Xperia 8 ver 2.1 (android)

Previous version works just fine but after latest update no voice (microphone).

Already tried Echo/Sound Test Service but no sound recorded.

Help!

I have exactly the same problem on the same device using the same - latest - version. They should upload an update urgently, Skype is useless without voice communication.

Indeed, i have the same problem. Android 2.1 on xperia x10 mini. no sound (microphone) after the latest update. Please let me know if you find a solution!

I am having the same problem, nobody can hear me, even in the Echo test, it fails to send my voice back. My Android is 2.1 Eclair and is on a Samsung GT I5500 (europa).

I think it is a hardware-software issue because, I got the same problem running Nimbuzz. Maybe the app can not successfully connect to microphone and make voice to be heard by the other party.  Is there any patch for this issue?

It is very frustrating since I've been waiting for skype to be released in the android market in my region.

Same problem for my xperia 8: the latest version of skype seemed more stable than the previous one, but once I received a few calls without being able to make my voice heard I realized skype has become just a (text) chat app.

Same problem on Motorola MB502 running Android 2.1. Uninstalled it to see if it might reset some hardware-software compatibility problem, but now it won't reinstall. INstall process stalls before completing and reboots the phone.
