Mic not working on my Skype for Sony X10

I don't know if I have done something wrong or if there are setting I should be changing, but my mic for using skype does not work. I tried calling another skype mobile user over in UK (he has an iphone), and I could hear him fine, but he could not hear me.

I tried calling the skype testing but I could not hear my voice.

I looked at the little mic icon and it has a line though it. Even when I click on it, it just goes blue, but still has the line,

Is there something I need to do to fix this problem?

Here it is the same. Mic not working anymore on SE Xperia X10 mini pro.

Version of skype is 2.00.47

Android 2.1 update 1 on the phone.

same with samsung galaxy 5. the person i am calling cant hear me although i can hear her.

same problem on x10 2.1 update 1 (baseband 2.1.67). audio worked fine on older version. does anybody know how to downgrade?
