Re: Ideapad A1 meets reqs. Why no video?

I can say at this point, it appears that clearing the cash may have done the trick but I was not crazy about the video flip. This becomes a deal breaker for many of my friends since they rely on the smaller tablet and skype to function flawlessly. I also encourage Lenova and Skype and Android to mash this out.

Re: Ideapad A1 meets reqs. Why no video?

Hi folks

We're aware of the problems on the A1, and that this is a popular device amongst our users, so are working to rectify.  Please bear with us.

Cheers

Dan

Upsidown video here too on my A1. Bummer. Having a "flip video" checkbox would be very welcomed.

Re: Ideapad A1 meets reqs. Why no video?

So frustrating that this doesn't work. This is the entire reason I bought the A1. Just assumed it would work since it had front and rear cameras. I can see but not send video. Neither the version from the Lenovo app store or the traditional Android App Market work. I've updated and tried each one MULTIPLE times (and multiple updates). Here is the crazy part: gchat's webcam chat works fine! I can see and send video! However, gchat doesn't have automated mic / speaker management like Skype so you have feedback issues all the time even after adjusting... argh... I think Skype needs to offer a PROJECTED timeline for a fix. I (and many others I am sure) need to know whether we should return our devices (before we can't) and if this is EVER going to work.

Thanks,

Jeff Schaap

Re: Ideapad A1 meets reqs. Why no video?

Good news!!!!!Good news!!!!!Good news!!!!!

skype work properly!!

Firist: if you rom version is not 2375, then chang the rom version to 2375.

Note: the new version like 2493 not work properly!

Second: download the skype developped by theos0o

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18290748&postcount=1492

Note1: downloading v11 in it, although there is newer version v12, but it do not work on A1;  skype 2.6 also do not work properly now!

Note2: set the skype! in "advanced setting", there is option "Use valid preview surface", choose it!

OK! enjoy your skype!!  finally thanks theos0o again!!!

Re: Ideapad A1 meets reqs. Why no video?

Works so far acceptable, the only disadvantage is the missing "file transfer" function because v11 is based on Skype 2.5. The question is why the Skype team isn't able to add such a simple function to the setting menu...

Re: Ideapad A1 meets reqs. Why no video?

This is my EXACT problem! This is why I'm even on here in the first place. You would think that when you buy a tablet with a front facing camera, then you would be able to make Skype calls, huh?
