All
Apologies for the rotation issues some of you are having on the Galaxy Nexus. While we are confident with the performance of our video on this device, it seems that there are a number of device variants on the market, and this means that some are not recognised by our confiuration settings, and hence calling is being locked to landscape. We are working to resolve this on 2 fronts:
1. We are tracking down as many different variants as we can, and ensuring that our config files are updated with the appropriate info
2. We are working to enable portrait mode on devices that are currently locked to landscape.
Please bear with us - we are aware that this is a very frustrating problem, particularly on such a recent device.
Cheers
Dan

The part that is confusing most of us is this:
Why is the quality of the front camera so bad? The Galaxy Nexus front cam supports 720p recording, yet it is only transmitting over Skype at 320x240p!
I know that it has nothing to do with my connection because I'm using Wifi on a 25mb/7mb connection. I have also tried it on a H+ mobile connection (5mb/3mb) and it is still pretty bad.
Can you explain?

Just wanted to report some bugs here :
Skype 2.7.0.907 / Galaxy Nexus GSM 4.0.2 / Rooted - Stock Rom
- On "Call phones" page :: If headphone is plugged in, each keypad entry will have about 0.5 seconds delay/lag. Unplug the headphone, and the problem is gone.
- When I was on "Unlimited World" plan and doesn't have any Skype credit, I cannot add "Call Forwarding" number via the app. It always redirect me to Skype.com to make buy some credits. - [intermittent, cannot reliably reproduce]
- When the screen is locked and there's an incoming call, sometime the call will be dropped right when I click the button to accept the call. --- If the screen is not locked, no problem.
- [feature request] when dialing (not connected yet), please enable the loudspeaker button. it's kind of annoying to have to wait until the other party answer the call before being able to switching on loudspeaker.

My video works fine...front and back camera. But it's stuck on speakerphone. No option to change to earpiece. And the bigger annoyance...I don't get notifications except on my notification bar. No notification sound OR vibrate (and yes, I verified that the notification and vibrate features are turned on). Those work fine in every other app, just not Skype.

Oh, and here's my info for my above post. Yes, I'm rooted and running a differant ROM, but I did have this problem prior to rooting.

Some issues on Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.0.2, Skype v 2.7.0.907
- Sign in often fails (say 20% of the time) with incorrect login, even though there is no change and login details are stored
- Status is showing that I'm signed in online, but contacts are entirely missing or all contacts are shown as offline. Need to kill app and restart (sometimes several times) to get to see online contacts.
- While dialing, the proximity sensor is ignored and the touch screen is still on. Plus, putting to speaker also doesn't work while dialling. So you either keep looking at the screen to see if call is connected yet, or you put it to your ear but then you get lots of random touches on the screen messing up things.
- I guess this is a feature but very annoying: long unnecessary vibrate when signing it. Can this be removed or at least made an option to turn off?

As I mentioned, contact list can be totally blank, or can contain all names but all shown as offline. Another inconvenient case if when some contacts are shown online and some others are not. Say, I see 3 contacts online on my phone. When I sign in to Skype on a proper (other than Android...) platform, I see further 2 online contacts and 2 away contacts that are all shown offline on the phone.
In settings, Go offline is set to "Never". However, if I switch over to another app from Skype (as in use my phone for anything else), it seems Skype doesn't remain online. When I switch back to Skype, it starts logging in and loading again from scratch.
