Front camera crashing Galaxy player 4.2

hello

here to report a problem.

when i'm in a call and click the video button i can share the back camera no problem.

if i select the Front camera (the one facing me) my device intantly reboots every time 5/5.

the specs...

Samsung Galaxy player 4.2

model number YP-GI1

android 2.3.6

Wifi

Skype 2.9.0.315

I also have this issue with the 4.2 Galaxy player

also:

call initiated from laptop (without video)

answered on Galaxy:  Galaxy front Camera Okay on both laptop and Galaxy

switch Galaxy to back camera:  okay on both laptop and galaxy

switch Galaxy to front:  Galaxy crashes.

Also when Galaxy front is okay on both Galaxy and laptop and Camera in introduced (turned on) from laptop:  Galaxy crashes.

Same specs as first poster to this thread

video incoming call to Galaxy/answered/Rear Galaxy camera activated

two way video is achieved but the Galaxy view is Galaxy Rear Camera in full screen

incoming caller in pip screen

attempt to switch to Galaxy front Camera = crash/reboot

Same problem here... Reboots at the very moment the front camera activates...

When is Skype going to get a fix for this issue? Has anyone gotten any response or found the solution for this bug?

Same exaxt issue here with galaxy player 4.2. Very disapointing, this needs a quick fix or I will have to get rid of this device.

Well, it has been confirmed... Today I received the second new out of the sealed box and after the short setup the first and only app placed on the device was Skype. Then a short test confirmed that everything works as expected cameras, sound, call, accept call.... Then when the device is set to receive "Video" it immediately crashes and reboots the Android...

It is obvious that this is not a new issue and that it is not likely a fix is in the near because to my knowledge no teck from Skype has made contact for resolution. They keep asking for make, model, and version... Gee, there is only 4.2 player.....

So if you are thinking it is the Samsung Player, then don't waste your time on this issue because serious testing has proven that these devices function quite well. Though the Skype developer is still pushing defective software. One post ask to be able to reload the last version which apparently worked without issue.

Folks at skype should at least make available the working version, until they can get a handle on this. I for one am still waiting for the developer to contact me for resolve.

So in closing, don't waste any time on this application as it relates the the 4.2 Galaxy Player. Time to use another app.....

update! version 3.0.0.6181 seems to have fixed the reboot problem with my 4.2 player.

haven't spent much time using it, but at least i can use the front cam now. YAY!
