I just add skype to the auto-end-list of the task manager and it's working till I restart the phone.

Still not implemented! ![]()
Come on guys ... the original version remembered the password between sessions ... so we know you know how to do it ...
The new one doesn't ... and lot's of people have been asking for it ... from the moment you took it out ... and their have been several updates ... but you haven't done it ... which means your opinion of you loyal customers is ???
Many of us have been customers since the very earliest betas on the PC.
@ "Why would you want to turn off Skype"
... I like to have as much memory as possible for the app I'm using on the phone.
... When that app is Skype I turn other apps off and they don't keep running.
... I like to get to the office ... and switch to Skype on my laptop.
... I like to get home ... and switch to Skype on my laptop/desktop.
... If I told you any more I'd have to kill you.
Simple ... I want to be able to turn Skype off completely on MY phone ... when I want to ... and then ... when I want to use Skype again ... I want to turn it back on .... and I want it to remember my password ... LIKE IT USED TO.

Skype for android has a number of shortcomings... please don't increase them by removing a useful feature that was there in the first place. Signing out of Skype makes sense to a whole lot of users apparently, so I don't get why it's been months and we still don't have this option.
Thank you for not ignoring the demands of your user base.

I only use skype sometimes on my mobile and it was really handy to start it to write someone or make a call when on the go.
Now it is quite cumbersome to always enter the passwort.

Hi.
I have to agree with the rest.
Why there just can't exist a simple "Close Skype" button in the main menu or a "closing-cross" button in the upper right corner? Of course, always remembering the login and password...
Come on, guys! We'are just talking about the feature that already existed and has been removed for an unknow reason.
It's just like receding... instead of moving further!

I also agree that this makes Skype quite unusable. It seems ridiculous to have to manually type in your password, and no, I do not want to leave Skype running on my phone, as its battery life is bad enough as it is.
I now only use Skype when it is impossible for me to use other methods of making phone calls.

good news! in the latest update version 2.8, this is fixed! when you click on sign out, there is an option that says "Exit and sign me in when Skype starts", which basically saves your password and signs in automatically! now i will keep Skype on my SGS2 permanently!
