Can't sign in to my a/c from Android phone

Hi,

I have just downloaded Skype for Android to my mobile without problem. However, Skype does not recognize my login details for my excisting account. I have entered everything correct, I have also tried power off and power on again, but still no joy.

When using Skype on my laptop, the login is quick and easy.

Can somebody please tell me how to solve this?

i'm confused how Coy (the original poster) says his problem was resolved. 
the issue is not forgetting a password....So, what specifically is the solution to the android problem?

i cant sign into my skype account on my android either...and if i do, it wont let me call out. i get a verizon message saying that the skype number i am calling is no longer in service..that is outrageous...

This problem had me for a while, but the following simple task seemed to work for me. Settings->Applications->Manage Applications. Find Skype and press "Clear Data". It let me sign in after that. Weird!

i couldn't sign into skype on my new S3 mobile phone.  So, having looked up this forum I tried the trick -  'clear data' -  and it worked for me too. Amazing!!

Any solutions beyond the 'clear application data' trick? That hasn't worked for me (Galaxy Note). The app used to work, and I can log in to and use my account via a browser, so it's clearly not a data transfer issue...
