Archos 70 tablet

Will Skype for Androids run on the Archos 70 tablet? If it does can I download it from Skype?

There is no obvious way to do it, so I did it the ridiculous way, I went on internet with my PC, searched forums for the .apk skype file for other devices and downloaded this one for the galaxy Samsung device [EDIT: Removed link] mounted the archos 70 tablet, passed onto it the file, unmounted, opened the file on the archos with the application installer, and voilà! You now have skype the hard way round. There is only sound calls, no video that I can see or find.

Having the same problem - when trying to load from Skype then it move me to Android Market page - and there is no way to finnish the down load. Did you have the Samsung device as well or just down loading the program suitable for this model? Do I need other Android smart phone and connect it with cable to Archos?

Hi you may have this sorted, but if not, I have same tablet (Archos 70 IT 250gig) I downloaded from android market with no problem. It works fine to.

On the archos 70/250 I could install skype for android, i enter the account but cannot see contacts or calling, chatting, ect. Any further hint?
