ASUS Transformer Prime TF201 Video Quality

I've searched through the Support Network and cannot seem to find a solution to the issue I am having. So here it goes:

I am running an ASUS Transformer Prime TF201, updated to the most recent version of ICS (4.0.3).

Camera Version is TF201-0x9900

Kernel is 2.6.39.4-00003-g12de84f

Build number is IML74K.US_epad-9.4.2.21-20120323

I installed Skype for Android today (May 5, 2012) from Google Play. It is not showing any updated available after the install.

I am able to use Skype, make video/audio calls...video (both front and rear cameras), and audio work (using the term loosely). Lag time is less than 1s, but audio and video are in sync, so it's acceptable. The issue is that the video quality is EXTREMELY poor, but only when using Skype. There is no visible difference in the video quality when switching from the front to the rear camera...which is odd considering the vast difference in the qualities of the two cameras, there should be at least SOME difference in quality.

I also have IP Webcam installed on my Prime, and webcam7 installed on my desktop, the video quality is outstanding when using IP Webcam/webcam7 to test the cameras.

Is there a fix for the video quality on the Prime? I see that other people are reporting a 'green' screen with ICS, but I do not have that issue.

I have the same problem with poor Skype video quality using latest ICS. Just bought the Transformer Prime three weeks ago.

Same here - and its the same on Asus transformer too - its all transformers are in problem.

Skype works fine on other tablets - for example in samsung galaxy tab or Ipad. As of now it seems only for asus - whcih Skype has to deliver a fix at the earliest-

I have exact same problem with same tablet. google talk gives perfect quality. in addition, sometimeswhen the skype video connection is made, a torch like light goes on in my rear facing camera, shiningout to the back. no idea how to turn that off either. it makes me wonder why i updated my tablet from my xoom to this beauty, when crucial functionality isnt supported by apps...

Bought TF201 last week, installed Skype two days ago. System has been already ICS4.

Bad video quality. Being described by the other end on skype as "rainfall" images.

Not even comparable to previously seen from a little cam connected to my laptop. Something needs to be fixed, either by Skype or Asus.

I have just installed the newest Skype from the Google Play store on my Asus Transformer Prime TF201 and I'm experiencing the same blurry video. I know the front camera isn't top notch, but it's definitely better than what Skype shows us... Can someone from the Skype support team further investigate this issue? As it seems to be a general problem for all Asus devices after the last upgrade. Thank you in advance, a happy Android user.

I have the same issue. my webcam quality via skype is rubbish. please fix this, I bought my asus prime mainly for skype and it's embarrassing to use!

"Skype" - Please allow the android version of Skype to send high quality video. The Asus Transformer is a tablet pc on Wifi, it's not a mobile phone on a network!.

Please fix it, otherwise my family can only see me properly when using Google Talk which isn't so popular... but it works.

I've got the same issue. I bought Prime TF201 a month ago and had firmware of 21-version, now I've updated to 28-th version. But nonetheless nothing's changed.
